Here in DC we have mostly been spared the worst of a bad nor’easter up in my home waters of New England. Sounds like it was a pretty crazy storm,up there with some other greats. Some good info on it,for those interested:

  Winds this morning on top of New Hampshire’s Mount Washington were 108 mph,gusting to 138. I don’t think they’ll be painting the railings today!

  Update:Wind directions continue to keep work conditions challenging. Here is a video of our protective front door airlock buckling in the east winds. The decision has been made not to open it.

Sounds like a good idea,gang! Those wacky weather dudes…Anyway,we here at Chine bLog are big on having a healthy respect for nature,and this is one of those days that reminds you why. Out on the water? I believe the posts above will tell you the wind hit 70 kts. at Matinicus Rock off Maine and a buoy in the Gulf of Maine was clocking 29′seas. Hmm –might be worth tying in a reef…
