So my blogging has fallen off a bit this spring,eh? Never fear,I haven’t gone away –I’ve just been engaged in another project. But that’s a different post.
My parents recently took an Elderhostel trip to the Dalmatian coast,Croatia. They loved the trip and it looks as lovely as I have heard it is. Before they went,I asked them –primarily my Mom,who is a pro, literally –to take some pictures of traditional Croatian boats. They found a number of interesting ones. Unfortunately,I don’t know much about these other than what is obvious. I hope someone will come along to fill us in. Many thanks to Mom Chine bLog!
Great photos. Good eye,Mom.
It’s good to see they’re still building and maintaining so many wooden boats. It does look like a great place for a sailing holiday too!
We live in Croatia and have developed an interest in traditional boat. We now use them as support boats for our kayak tours. I recognize 80% of the boats in your pictures.
