Nice article in the Newburyport (MA) Daily News on Lowell’s Boat Shop,which turns 215 –that would be two hundred and fifteen years old –on May 5. Not impressed yet? Chew on this:This makes it the oldest continuously operating boat shop in the U S of A. Not yet? The founder,Simeon Lowell,invented the dory. Invented. The. Dory. My friends,we are talking about some hallowed ground. Keep it up,Lowell’s!
